Idli Sambar is a south Indian traditional dish, Rava Idli & tiffin Sambar now become famous all over India. Idli is basically a kind of flavored, vegetable spicy soup that is served with idli which is lentils. It's an instantly make recipe and is delicious in taste.

Idli sambar is a very healthy breakfast that is eaten in many cities across the country. In South India, this dish is served on banana leaves, which also makes this dish attractive. You can make this recipe very easily at your home and enjoy this healthy breakfast.




Idli Sambar Recipe

Ingredients 

  • 1 bowl Semolina
  • ½ bowl Yogurt
  • ½ teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Tomato
  • Mustard
  • Finely chopped Coriander
  • Hot water for slurry


Method 

First, clean semolina and filter it. Then add yogurt and salt in a bowl with semolina and mix them properly. Add hot water to it and prepare a thick batter. Now, finely chop tomatoes, coriander and green chilies and add them to the batter. Mix the solution well.

Take a frying pan and heat the oil in it, add mustard seeds. When the mustard starts crackling, turn off the gas stove, and then mix the seasoning with semolina solution. Now add baking soda powder to it and mix well. Apply some oil in the mold of idli and make it a little chicken, it makes it easier to remove the idli.

Now add semolina solution to the mold. Put 1 glass of water in the cooker and heat it. Remove the whistle from the lid of the cooker, keep the idli mold in it and close the lid and cook it for 9 minutes. After 9 minutes, open the lid of the cooker and check if the solution is ready, put the needle or something like a spike in the solution, and if the solution sneaks on the needle then cook it for 2 minutes. 

When cooked, keep the mold out of the cooker and when it cools, take the idlis out of the mold with the help of a knife. Your healthy idli is ready and now let's prepare the sambar.



Sambhar Ingredients

  • 1 bowl of Arhar dal
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric
  • 1 small packet of Sambar masala
  • 100 gm Pumpkin
  • 100 gm Ghee or Butter
  • 100 gm Eggplant
  • 100 gm Tomatoes
  • 50 gm Tamarind

Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds oil
  • Finely chopped curry leaves
  • Some Red Chilis
  • Asafoetida

Method

First, soak the Arhar dal in clean water for two hours. Soak tamarind in a separate bowl with water. When soaked, add 6 bowls of water and salt, turmeric as per taste and cook it. When the lentils are cooked well, whisk it with blender, then finely chop all the vegetables.

Now add crushed tomatoes and sambar masala. When the spices start leaving the oil, mix it in the cooked lentils. Drain the pulp of tamarind and mix it in the lentils and boil it on the gas stove.
Now serve it with idli, your Idli Sambhar is ready
